WHO WE ARE
Kale is a family run business that opened up in 1993 under the name Sunny Cafe. Tucked inside Noah’s Natural Health Foods store, it was Toronto’s first all vegan, organic, macrobiotic eatery. In December 2009, the small Bloor location welcomed a second restaurant on Yonge Street.

At Kale, our menu changes daily according to what organic produce is delivered to us that day. Always freshly prepared, our food is self-serve and sold by weight, averaging between $10-$15 a meal. We don't believe in microwaves or deep fryers. All of our vegetarian dishes are steamed, baked or raw. Reservations aren't necessary. Even if you're just joining us for a juice, latte or tea, we'd love to have you.

Kale offers you the opportunity to make good decisions quickly by serving fast and nutritious lunches and dinners. You don't have to think here, we've done the work for you. Simply select what appeals to you, and know you've given your body exactly what it needs. You needn't be a vegan to enjoy our food, but once you get a taste of it, will be amazed at how good you feel.

While we try to use organic and locally grown produce as much as possible, access to certain produce year-round is limited due to an ever-changing climate. The majority of what we can't produce locally comes from California, the hub for organic produce.
